Management of Cardiac and Trauma Emergencies in the Community
UCD’s Centre for Immediate Care Services provide courses that offer the knowledge and skills needed to deal with acute cardiac and trauma emergencies. Participants include general practitioners, practice nurses, emergency medical technicians and other healthcare professionals. Each module of the course is taught over one day, one dealing with cardiac patients and the other dealing with the management of trauma. The course tutors are drawn from medical practice, nursing and emergency medical technicians. The course includes close involvement with the local ambulance service. Course Pre-Requisites Candidates must have completed a BLS (Basic Life Support) within the past 12 months
